Banking News: An agreement has been reached between Global IME Bank Limited and Barpak Sulikot Municipality for providing loans for agriculture and animal husbandry. The agreement was jointly signed by Village Municipality Chairman Bishnu Prasad Bhat and Barpak Branch Manager of the bank Pradip Gurung and Supervisor Tej Bahadur Thapa.
As per the understanding, the bank will provide a loan of a minimum of Rs. 200,000 to maximum Rs. Global IME Bank Limited has been disbursing various types of loans in collaboration with local bodies to build self-reliant municipalities through the commercialization of agriculture.
About 65 percent of the people are dependent on agriculture, which contributes 27 percent to the country’s gross domestic product. The Bank is confident that the facilitation of agricultural credit will help in developing entrepreneurship, creating self-employment and making local bodies self-reliant.
